Netsweeper Client Filter for Chrome
Netsweeper Client Filter for Chrome is a free add-on that allows users to integrate their Chrome browsers with the Netsweeper Filtering service. By doing so, users can send all URL requests to a Netsweeper Policy Service for web surfing filtering. The policy service is highly configurable and can be customized to suit the needs of the user. The Chrome Client Filter can be easily configured using the gSuite enterprise policy or through the Windows Registry/MacOS pList files, allowing for seamless customization and branding.
When using the Netsweeper Client Filter, the following data is transmitted to the Policy Service for filtering purposes: the complete URL of each web request, all elements on a web page, the account name of the user signed into Chrome, and the IP address of the workstation as seen by the Policy Service.
The Netsweeper Client Filter for Chrome is specifically designed to extend the functionality of the Netsweeper Policy Service and Client Filter platform to the Chrome browser. It is important to note that while the Chrome Client Filter is free, it does require the installation and configuration of a Netsweeper Policy Service.
